Wood wicks

These wicks burnout too fast I'm not happy with these. Especially with the price is a ripoff

Interesting, but a wee bit tricky

If you like wooden wicks for the tiny campfire look complete with faint sound effects, be prepared for some inconveniences. Like fairly short burn times before the flame dies down and wick trimming is required. Discoloration and carbon dust in the melt pool can also be a drawback if you are using pure white coconut wax. To avoid early flame die-back, if you don't mind losing the crackle, the solution is to use these wicks in pairs, two to a wick holder. Melted wax is then drawn up between the mating surfaces to give a steady, bright flame over a much longer burn time before trimming is required. (This is actually the same effect you can get by using 20mm booster wicks). You will need a larger jar to accommodate the brighter flame though - about 9.5cm diameter
